Salt Lake City's HQ Hotel Gains Sustainability Certification

The 700-room Hyatt Regency Salt Lake City, connected to Utah's Salt Palace Convention Center, has earned 4 keys from Green Key Global.

The 700-room Hyatt Regency Salt Lake City, connected to the Salt Palace Convention Center, has earned a 4-Key certificate, the highest tier of Green Key Global’s Eco-Rating Program.

The sustainability certification is awarded to properties that have completed and are up to date with Green Key’s assessment and audit process. The assessment analyses the hotel's environmental efforts on site and within the local community. Hotels that have been awarded Green Key Global eco-ratings from one to five keys must retake the assessment every three years.

Features at the Hyatt

Guest rooms at the Salt Lake City property feature floor-to-ceiling windows looking out on the city skyline and the Wasatch Mountains. Sporting a modern design, the rooms offer separate seating areas, high-speed internet and Smart Mirror vanities. Doors open using the World of Hyatt app's digital keys. Guests with free time can enjoy the Sundance Terrace and its pool, cabanas and firepits. Among the four dining venues on property, the signature Mar | Muntanya, the brain child of executive chef Tyson Peterson, serves Northern Spanish cuisine on the sixth-floor rooftop. Cocktails and shared small plates are available at Contribution, a street-facing lounge; and breakfast, lunch and dinner are served at the Salt Republic. The Market is the place for grab-and-go fare.

The 23,015-square-foot ballroom, the largest hotel ballroom in Salt Lake City, anchors the property's 60,000 square feet of meeting space. Sundance Terrace also is available for events, along with 21 breakout rooms, several prefunction areas and the 14,689-square-foot Salt Lake Ballroom. The Broadcast Lounge, one of the brand's first dedicated studios, accommodates virtual and hybrid events.
